Gateways to Opportunities Credentials—Routes, Fees, and Submission Dates

Entitled Route: ECE practitioners complete an approved program of college courses at designated institutions of higher education. Gateways to Opportunity awards entitlement status to specific higher education institutions who align their coursework with credential requirements. Upon completion of required courses, students are awarded a credential.

Fees

Application Fee—$75.00

Direct Route: ECE practitioners submit a portfolio to the Gateways to Opportunity office that validates competencies and experience in early care and education. Education, training, work experience, professional contributions, skills, and knowledge are represented through the completion of a portfolio. After a portfolio review, a credential may be awarded.

Evaluation Fee—$350.00*
Assessment Fee—$150.00 (per credential)

The following fees apply only to those who have already been awarded their credential:

Add-on Credential Fee—$225.00 (per credential)
Level Advancement Fee—$75.00 (per credential)
Renewal Fee—$75.00 (only applies to currently credentialed recipients)

* All Fees are non-refundable.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance may be available through the Gateways to Opportunity Scholarship Program and through Professional Development Funds at Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) Agencies. Financial aid for coursework may be available through the financial aid office of the college or university attended.

Portfolio Submission Dates

Portfolios must be submitted to Gateways to Opportunity by the last Friday of every month. Any applications received after these dates will be processed on the next submission date.
