Gateways Credential Entitlement InformationGateways to Opportunity currently administers three statewide credentials that validate the knowledge and skills of ECE practitioners: One way for individuals to earn these credentials is to attend a college or university that is an entitled institution through Gateways to Opportunity. An entitled institution has aligned their coursework with specific credential benchmarks and meets all additional credential requirements through coursework. A student who graduates from an entitled institution not only has a degree, but a credential that is recognized by the state of Illinois.
