Gateways to Opportunity Scholarship Program
The state of Illinois has not enacted a budget for Fiscal Year 2016. There is a great deal of uncertainty as to both, when, and at what amount, funds will be made available this coming year. The Gateways Scholarship Program is funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), and administered through a contract with the Illinois Network of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies.
Official Notice: Scholarship payments to your school will be delayed until INCCRRA receives sufficient funding from the state. At this time, INCCRRA has not received notification from the state as to when and what amount of funding will be received. This delay in funding will impact the Summer (term that begins after July 1, 2015) and Fall 2015 terms.
The Gateways to Opportunity Scholarship Program is an individual-based scholarship opportunity for eligible practitioners working in Early Care and Education (ECE) or school-age care programs. The Gateways Scholarship Program will pay a percentage of tuition and fees dependent upon availability of funding. Goals of the program include:
